Japanese carrier AIRDO puts NABLA Mobility's obstacle-tracking tool into full operational use

Source: Aircraft IT· 2 Sept 2026
AIRDO, a Japanese airline flying Boeing 767-300s and 737-700s on routes linking Hokkaido with the rest of Japan, has moved NABLA Mobility's OBST obstacle-data tool from trial into full operational use. OBST takes raw obstacle information, including NOTAMs, and structures and visualises it by location and altitude so operations staff can act on it more quickly than working through source documents manually. During its 2026 trial, AIRDO said the system supported a "round-the-clock response" to obstacle information, letting relevant changes get reflected in operational decisions immediately rather than waiting for a manual review cycle. The airline credits the tool with cutting manual workload and lowering the risk of a relevant obstacle notice being missed entirely. NABLA Mobility, which also sells operational-forecasting and workload-management tools under the Weave and Operational Forecaster names, is positioning OBST as part of a broader push to bring more structured data handling into everyday flight-operations decision-making.

AIRDO has adopted NABLA Mobility's OBST platform, which turns NOTAMs and other raw obstacle data into a structured, visual format for flight-operations teams, after a 2026 trial. The airline says it cut manual workload and reduced the risk of missed checks.
